The Amazon Kindle now has a big brother, the Amazon Kindle DX. Its biggest advantage over the standard kindle is it’s screen size – 9.7 inches versus 6 inches – but it has managed to maintain roughly the same thickness at just one-third inch. It also has more than twice the memory, allowing it to store over 3500 books. The Kindle DX has a new native PDF reader, whereas the standard model requires that you convert PDFs on your computer before uploading them to the device.

Perhaps the most interesting new feature is the auto-rotate display, which is not unlike the iPhone’s screen rotation feature. Rotating the screen allows you to read in either portrait or landscape mode. The Kindle DX commands a $130 premium over its little brother, but we think the extra screen real estate is worth it.
